Tyske Ludder is a German band that primarily plays Electronic Body Music (EBM), a genre that blends elements of industrial and electronic music. Formed in 1989 in Lower Saxony, Germany, the band's name translates to "German whore" in Danish and Norwegian, a term historically used to describe local women romantically involved with German soldiers during World War II.
The founding members, Claus Albers and Olaf A. Reimers, emerged from the wave and new romantic scenes, eventually focusing on EBM. Their lyrics often address themes such as technological dominance, military enforcement of U.S. interests, and historical conflicts like the Yugoslav Wars.
Throughout their career, Tyske Ludder has released several albums and EPs, including "Bombt die Mörder?" (1994), "Dalmarnock" (1995), and "Evolution" (2015). They have performed at notable festivals such as Infest in Bradford (2008), Wave-Gotik-Treffen in Leipzig (2009), and M'era Luna Festival in Hildesheim, Germany (2009).
Their music is characterized by dark electro and industrial influences, with a techno edge that has evolved over the years. After a hiatus in the late 1990s, the band resumed activity in 2004, continuing to produce new material and perform live.
