Ryūtarō Arimura

🇯🇵 Japan

Ryūtarō Arimura (有村竜太朗) is the charismatic vocalist and guitarist best known as the frontman of the Japanese visual-kei rock band Plastic Tree, formed in 1993 in Chiba, Japan. The band’s sound is a distinctive fusion of moody guitars, literary lyricism, and ‘80s Brit-rock sensibilities.

Beyond Plastic Tree, Ryūtarō conducts a poignant solo project, blending acoustic and experimental elements—rooted in hardcore and electronic influences—as showcased in his anthology Kojin Sakuhin-shū 1992‑2017. He also channels his creativity into fashion, having launched his brand “the closet,” featuring seasonal capsule collections inspired by his poetic artistry.

Originally from Chiba, Japan, he continues to shape the visual-kei scene both musically and artistically.
