Originally named Green Jell枚, the band changed its name due to legal pressure from Kraft Foods, the owners of the Jell-O brand, who claimed trademark infringement. Despite the spelling change, the pronunciation remains the same.
The band's lineup has seen numerous changes, with vocalist Bill Manspeaker being the only consistent member throughout its history. Notably, Maynard James Keenan and Danny Carey, who later formed the band Tool, were members of Green Jell每 in the early 1990s.
