THE ONE
Thunderclouds are rolling in
As the fires start to rise
All the world turns into dust
Underneath a falling sky
All the faces you deceived
Panic in the orange glow
So you pour your scorn on me
Now your truth has been exposed

I can be the one you love
The one you love to blame
When nothing goes your way
I can be the one you love
The one you love to hate
I can be the one

It’s a long way to the ground
When you’ve flirted with the sun
To be ready for the fall
You’ll have to face the things you’ve done
You were like a deity
Capricious to the last
You became what you despised
There’s no running from your past

I can be the one you love
The one you love to blame
When nothing goes your way
I can be the one you love
The one you love to hate
I can be the one

But in spite of all the hurt
At the ending of the world
I can say I understand
I’m not gonna turn and run
As we fall into the sun
I’ll be holding out a hand

I can be the one you love
The one you love to blame
When the sky bursts into flames
I can be the one you love
The one you love to hate
I can be the one
