Rites of Blasphemy
(Bünnemeyer/Albers)

Catacombic hounding to the holy place
Ritualized petition for deliverance
Spurious eagerness of forlorn hopes
Priests, martyrs and
unknown popes

Refrain:
Communion, feast of body
Disciples drinking blood
Revels in gory alchemy
In new rites of blasphemy

Piscine trace, concealment in the hiding place
Baptism, blasphemy, occultist maze
Breaking bread, praying, the ecstatic flock
Bloody penance, secrets, devout livestock

Refrain:
Communion, feast of body
Disciples drinking blood
Revels in gory alchemy
In new rites of blasphemy

Scapegoats – slaughter lambs
Death squads – Judas kiss
Burning – pyre heat
Lions – hungry beasts
Rituals

Resurrection
Observance
The holy cross

Refrain:
Communion, feast of body
Disciples drinking blood
Revels in gory alchemy
In new rites of blasphemy

About the lyrics:
Since around 30 AD, religion in the Roman Empire offered new paths. People began to
worship beings other than the Roman deities and founded their own cult. Who is a believer,
who is a blasphemer? A difficult choice back then.
