Behind the veil where valor dies
They vowed to fight with forty men,

But Sigurd came with eighty strong,
And laughed his oath aloud

It's logical he lost his head then.
But pride and boasting with deceit entwined
Not a good mix, a lesson in kind
Then Sigurd rode with hero's glow,
His foe's head swinging near his calf below.
But with each gallop, teeth met skin
A wound was born, the curse crept in
