The Sixsters is a Ukrainian all-girl rock band formed in the spring of 2018. Their music blends elements of punk, pop rock, and art rock, resulting in an energetic and melodic sound characterized by driving guitar riffs, punchy drum beats, and memorable choruses.
The band consists of five talented young musicians:
- Mariia Krutsenko: Lead vocals, rhythm guitar
- Anna Voloshyna: Lead guitar
- Sofiia Chernova-Kurlykina: Keyboards, backing vocals
- Kateryna Kuziakina: Drums
- Polina Zagnoi: Bass guitar, backing vocals
Originally from Kyiv, Ukraine, The Sixsters have been active since 2018, performing at various festivals and events. In 2022, due to the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the band members relocated to Essen, Germany, where they continue to create and perform music.
Their discography includes several albums and singles, with their music evolving from themes of self-discovery and adolescence to include songs of protest and societal critique. Notably, they performed at the Glastonbury Festival in June 2023, marking a significant milestone in their career.
