Static-X are pioneers of industrial-nu-metal, known for their hard-hitting fusion of machine-like riffs, electronic textures, and explosive groove. Fronted for years by the iconic Wayne Static, the band broke through with the landmark debut Wisconsin Death Trip (1999), which introduced their signature “evil disco” sound — aggressive, danceable, and brutally heavy.
With albums like Machine, Shadow Zone, and Start a War, Static-X became one of the defining heavy acts of the early 2000s, dominating festivals and rock radio with relentless energy and unmistakable style. Their look, sound, and live intensity made them a cornerstone of industrial and nu-metal culture.
