"Δε σε θέλω πια'" ("Den se thélo pia," meaning "I Don't Want You Anymore") is a Greek adaptation of the Neapolitan song "'Mbraccia a me," composed by Vincenzo Di Chiara and Antonio Barbieri in 1907. The Greek version was recorded in June 1910 in Smyrna (now Izmir), Turkey.
The lyrics express the singer's decision to end a relationship due to the partner's hurtful actions, declaring indifference to their threats or pleas.
This is one of the most important, well known, and one of our favorite Greek traditional songs.
Those who know us, are aware of our love of the folk elements in our music, as well as the fusion between the Greek folk genre with our metal sound.
The decision to cover this was challenging, and though it felt natural, it demanded lots of hard work to shape this according to our vision.
This wasn't just another cover to us, but a darker version of ours, with lots of respect to this masterpiece, honoring our roots, and so we hope its new perspective will move the listeners,
Το "Δε σε θέλω πια" του 1900 είναι ένα από τα σημαντικότερα, δημοφιλέστερα και πιο αγαπημένα μας κομμάτια της ελληνικής μουσικής.
Όσοι μας γνωρίζουν, ξέρουν ότι αγαπάμε το παραδοσιακό στοιχείο και το πάντρεμά του με το μεταλλικό ήχο μας.
Η απόφαση για τη διασκευή του ήταν μια πρόκληση, και παρόλο που μας βγήκε πολύ φυσικά, απαίτησε πολλή δουλειά για να διαμορφωθεί ακριβώς όπως το οραματιστήκαμε.
Δεν το αντιμετωπίσαμε σαν μια απλή διασκευή, αλλά μια δική μας πιο σκοτεινή εκδοχή, με πολύ σεβασμό σε αυτό το αριστουργηματικό τραγούδι και τις ρίζες μας, που ελπίζουμε η νέα προοπτική του να αγγίξει και να συνεπάρει όποιον το ακούσει.
